"Discover How You Can Take Amazing Underwater Photographs...
This 78-Minute DVD Will Help Ensure YOU Know Everything You Need to Help You Take Stunning Underwater Photographs Whenever You Take to the Water, even if you don't currently own an underwater camera ...
Here's some feedback we've received...
"I learned a lot from this excellent DVD.
Chapter 6 ('Tips') and 7 ('Kit Care') were the ones which stood out. If I had known the information which Jon provides on 'Preventative Maintenance' then my camera would still be working instead of ruined by sea water!
These two chapters alone are worth the price of the DVD. Highly recommended."

From the Desk of: Jon Martin Underwater Photography Enthusiast |
Does this sound like you...
- You enjoy scuba diving and would like to take photos of your adventures but don't know where to start, or think it'll be way too expensive; OR
- You enjoy scuba diving and you have a digital camera and housing but you aren't happy with your attempts so far; OR
- You don't get to go scuba diving as often as you'd like so want an easy-to-follow reference to help remind you what you have to do to take better underwater photographs;
...then read on to Discover How this DVD can help You...
My name is Jon Martin, the producer of this DVD and I'm probably a lot like you.
You see I learned to dive in 1999 and am currently a PADI Master Scuba Diver but I don't get to dive as much as I'd like to. I was lucky enough to travel to Australia in 2005 and got to dive on the Great Barrier Reef and go on a live-aboard in the Coral Sea. I realised that I needed to invest in an underwater camera and a marine housing so I could record my adventures on one of the natural wonders of the world! But there were so many options and...
... I just didn't know where to start...
After a lot of research I opted for a Sony Compact Digital Camera (which I still use today) but there were so many options, and today probably more so - how could I be sure that I'd made the right decision. I also tried to find some books on Amazon, but most of the titles available focussed on film cameras and not the new world of digital technology. Fortunately there were a few seasoned amateur underwater photographers on the live-aboard so I was able to ask a lot of silly questions and got some one on one tuition (I also learned how stressful it can be should your housing flood - as happened when one of the American's on-board with a Nikon dSLR camera's housing o-ring split mid-dive) .
There's got to be a better way...
To be honest I was a tad disappointed with the day dive sites on the Barrier Reef but the Coral Sea was awesome (checkout some of the images on the DVD case below - especially the wonderful manta ray that was taken at 40m [~130ft]). And from that point on I've been hooked.
Gradually my library at home has expanded as more underwater photography books referencing digital cameras have been released, and my skills improved on my (all too few) dive trips since Australia. I've even joined the British Society of Underwater Photographers (BSoUP) and have rubbed shoulders with some of Europe's top pros who have been very willing to share their knowledge.
But there's so much to remember to have any chance of taking a half-decent underwater photograph...
...and trying to juggle all of the great advice, as well as remembering to check your depth, air, the location of your buddy, keeping neutrally buoyant, not forgetting to breathe... and that's before finding something worthy to photograph, and then getting close enough to start the composition of that prize-winning image. Well I don't know about you, but I certainly found the whole process very frustrating.
That's Where this DVD Helps...

"It covers all bases for beginning with this great hobby and is well structured and delivered. I’ve bought a number of
boat training DVDs from a number of other
providers and they don’t match the quality of your production.
Can’t wait for your next title ;-)"
Adrian, West Sussex, UK
You see although the books are great, and the images presented are amazing, I just didn't have time to read them all every time I went diving, so I made lots of notes in the hope that I could short-cut the time it would take me to refresh my memory of what I should and shouldn't do.
It was then that I had my EUREKA moment!
Why not combine one of my other hobbies (videography) with scuba diving and underwater photography?
So over a period of about 4-months I slaved away in the evenings and at weekends and ended up with "Getting Started with Underwater Photography", 78-minutes packed with essential information...
In fact, on this 78-minute DVD You'll Discover:
- Why now is a great time to get started;

Here's some more comments from people that have watched the DVD...
"I've been interested in underwater photography for a long time as
an observer, but didn't know if I wanted to go to the expense of buying all that extra kit.
Your DVD has helped me realise what I’ve been missing and has given me the kick I needed to get a marine housing for my compact camera

"Thanks for sending the Getting Started with Underwater Photography DVD. I watched it through immediately and
found the explanations and examples you provide really insightful. It’s so much better watching something than having to read it.
I found that I take things in so much quicker this way.
Simon, St Genis. France
This DVD represents what I believe every underwater photography enthusiast needs to know no matter what level you're at whether...
- You already own a digital compact or SLR camera, then this DVD will help you understand what you need to take the next 'giant stride' to immerse yourself with underwater photography;
- You already take underwater photographs but get inconsistent results, then this DVD will help you focus on the basics so you can move on to master the subject and produce great underwater images on every dive;
- You scuba dive but don't yet have a camera, the initial chapters of the DVD will help you generate your list of requirements so that you can buy the right equipment for you and your budget;
- You (like me) don't dive as often as you'd like and tend to forget what you should be doing because it was a few months since you last tried, this this DVD will be invaluable as it provides the easy-to-follow refresher, meaning you can be more productive, quicker; and finally,
- You can't yet scuba dive but are thinking about starting this DVD will provide an interactive guide of what's under the water to help inspire you to get the proper training and go get wet!
